The Autajon Group has acquired Simply Cartons, giving the France-headquartered global packaging group its first foothold in the UK.

WHO: Formed in 2006, Simply Cartons operates three sites in Nottingham with some 200 employees. The company provides packaging (folding cartons, gift boxes, and advent calendars) for premium drinks, food, and cosmetics, and has a strong presence in luxury.

The French family‐owned Autajon Group is one of Europe's leading packaging manufacturers for almost 60 years, supplying product packages and labels for cosmetics and perfume brands such as Chanel, Christian Dior, and Chloé. The group has a presence in 12 European countries, the US, China, and South Korea. Autajon Group has 41 member companies and produces more than 4.5 billion folding cartons and 21.5 billion labels annually.

WHY: The deal gives France-headquartered Autajon Group its first foothold in the UK.

IN THEIR OWN WORDS: Craig Mather, Chief Executive, Simply Cartons, added, “This new partnership gives the Simply Group a greater global presence enabling us to facilitate not only the continued growth of Simply but also satisfy the needs of our global customers too.”

"We remain faithful to our strategy of expanding our presence by integrating sites that have local influence and share the same values, sustainability awareness and demonstrate remarkable technical know how," added Gérard Autajon.
